FAUX GLOW mOBILE SPRAY TANNING

How do I prepare for a spray tan?

Exfoliate your skin, especially around elbows, hands, feet and knees.  Do not wear makeup or lotion.  Do not used oil based products the day of your session.

What should I bring to the session?

Bring whatever you plan to tan in, loose comfortable clothing, flip flops and a hair band.  Bring an umbrella if it is a rainy day.

What should I wear to tan?

You can tan in whatever you feel comfortable in- bathing suit, strapless bra and underwear, underwear only, or in the nude.

Are there any guidelines for waxing before my session?

Wax 24 hours prior to your session.

When can I shower after my spray tan?

Do not shower for at least 8 hours after your spray tan.  The solution must be given time to activate your skin's pigment to create the perfect golden bronze color.  During this time DO NOT moisturize, shower, bathe, sweat excessively, go swimming, go out in the rain, give your baby a bath, do dishes, or any activity where your body gets wet.

How long will my tan last and how do I maintain my tan?

Your spray tan should last 5-10 days, depending on how you care for the tan.  When showering after 8 hours, use gentle shower products such as a moisturizing shower gel in order to maintain your tan.  Some soaps are too harsh, using them cause your tan to fade.  If you must use soap, use good quality soaps that contain a moisturizer.  Also, rinse only with cool to lukewarm water, then pat dry your skin and avoid scrubbing with a towel.
In order to maintain your tan, moisturizing is key.  You must moisturize everyday, at least once a day, but it is recommended 2-3 times a day.  Do not use oil based products as they will cause your tan to fade quicker.  In addition, in order to maintain your tan, do not take long hot baths, get in swimming pools or hot tubs, or exfoliate for the following week after your tan.  Some high end facial masks, cleansers, toners, and creams will strip the tan off your face since they typically exfoliate.  Avoid products that contain salicylic acid, glycolic acid, azaliac acid, benzoyl peroxide, and alcohol.

What should I do once the tan starts to fade?

When the tan begins to fade you can touch it up with self-tanner.  After a week or two you may see uneven patches, simply exfoliate the areas to even out the tan.  You may want to scrub off the rest of the tan after 10 days or so.

What should I do to remove a dark stain?

Sometimes no matter what you do,  you will get darker stains.  You can scrub them off with an exfoliator using an exfoliating glove. If you have done this and it didn't remove it all, you can try a little lemon juice and/or oxygen cream.  You can buy oxygen cream through Faux Glow if needed.
